
WS: KUKA Innovation Award Team CoNeeBot: Smart needle with collaborative robot control

Team CoNeeBot's goal is developing a collaborative robotic system which provides assistance during the complete needle placement procedure. A smart needle is used to sense the tissue in front of its tip. AI methods convert this into information, e.g., on mechanic properties or distance to target structures. Using the collaborative robot this information is provided to the physician in a natural way.
