WHO estimates that close to 2% of the population in developed countries uses wheelchairs. Every day when we pass 50 people on the street we should meet a person in a wheelchair. However, this is not the case. Have you wondered why? We at Wheelstair have known the answer to this question and decided to change the status quo. We designed a device that, when combined with a manual wheelchair, allows us to independently overcome stairs. Our innovation is based on an original patent-protected technological solution. Our technology offers an opportunity for a great social change and a new look on accessibility challenges. Until now, efforts have focused on making individual buildings accessible to many people. We propose to focus efforts on the individual and make multiple buildings accessible.
